When it was first suggested to me that there was a guy who was born in London, England who is writing both genuine and original Country music I was, to say the least, sceptical. Until, that is, I took the time to listen to his album ‘Some You Win and Some You Lose’. This selection from his wide ranging repertoire comprises sixteen of his songs. He combines love songs with lyrics that could be drawn from the lives and thoughts of many of us with some pretty hard hitting philosophy that should make many of us want to run out and become Eco Warriors.

Frank claims that he is not the best singer in the world but as Willie Nelson said “You need good words and a good melody. You don’t have to sing too well, I’ve proved that”. Frank performs each song with due sentiment and feeling. I have to confess that the first time I sat and listened to ‘Some You Win and Some You Lose’ there were moments that I had a lump in my throat and others when his whimsical humour made me smile and even at least once laugh not at him but with him.
